Apart from anything else you could say about it, Wellesley is beautiful ("An Adamless Eden," according to a 1997 book). Sightseers flock to the campus in autumn, but stay away when the temperature drops below 50°F.

They're missing out. The winter brings a dramatic change to the college's landscape, and once-a-year photo opportunities are--quite literally--everywhere...

The temperature was hovering around freezing as the rain fell harder by the minute, but Maya Dolgin and Caroline Phillips had reason to be upbeat. The two Wellesley College sophomores had reached a climactic day in their months of campaigning for Hillary Clinton. Bundled up in their full-length parkas, they stood in front of the Hunnewell Elementary School in Wellesley holding signs in support of Clinton as the polls opened at 7 a.m. on Super Tuesday. Even when a bespectacled middle-aged woman asked them to stand across the street--150 feet from the polling place--so as not to "offend" anyone, they obliged without complaint...

I once thought that online dating was reserved for the desperate or socially inept among us, but then I discovered thematchup.net -a dating and communication website built in 2004 by student organizers at Harvard and MIT. The site provides its services free of charge to students, faculty and alumni from Boston area colleges and universities including Harvard, MIT and Wellesley. Glowing recommendations from my classmates ("My friend found her husband on The Matchup!") coupled with the fact that I attend a women's college were enough to convince me to create a profile...
