Submissions

Submission Guidelines:

Counterpoint accepts submissions from anyone in the Wellesley/MIT community. Contributors may submit a range of previously unpublished non-fiction work including satires, reporting-based articles, opinion pieces, reviews, interviews, personal essays or some combination of these. While creativity is encouraged, as a writer you are responsible for the factualness of your stories. Topics should be timely, as the magazine is published on a monthly basis.

Contributors are strongly encouraged to contact an editor at counterpoint@mit.edu to discuss your article topics before submitting your work. The editors are eager to work with you at any stage of the writing process to make your submission the best it can be, but articles will reflect your own voice and ideas. Counterpoint reserves the right to edit final submissions for length and clarity.

Feature articles should be at least 500 words long; those written for “/etc” should be between 300 and 700 words.

Counterpoint adheres to the AP Stylebook.

We also accept photo essays and cartoons. Artists should follow the same guidelines for submission and be aware that their work should have a minimum resolution of 300dpi.
